Just in Time (Before the heavens opened) - Kenzo and Mariflor’s Stunning Stradbroke Island Micro-Wedding

Kenzo and Mariflor’s day was simply beautiful from start to finish and capturing the magic of what Straddie’s most scenic spots.
The week leading up had everyone’s eyes glued to the weather forecast, which predicted rain and storms. But with both a Plan A and a Plan B in place there was no weather that could stop their special day.
The morning started with some ‘getting ready’ time at their Airbnb, with their little girl taking a much-needed nap – a toddler rest is a must when there’s so much excitement ahead! Meanwhile, the Elope Brisbane team set to work, and by the time the ceremony area was ready, the weather was looking perfect.
Kenzo and Mariflor chose a custom package that gave them the best of everything – a perfect combination of simplicity and elegance. It wasn’t a Pop-Up, nor was it a Love Adventure, but a tailored combination that suited them perfectly. Elope Brisbane made the entire process effortless, offering the ease of organising a wedding with everything included in one seamless package.
A handful of close family and friends gathered – Kenzo’s parents, his brother and sister-in-law, and Mariflor’s best friends. Although Mariflor’s family couldn’t make the trip from the Philippines, they were honored in the ceremony, with everyone knowing they’d be celebrating from afar.
Right on cue, Kandid Kombi arrived to bring our Bride Mariflor to the ceremony. She looked radiant. The Groom and their young daughter began walking down the aisle, hand in hand, a beautiful father-daughter moment that had everyone smiling. Then, Mariflor, with the music playing, walked elegantly towards Kenzo, who didn’t hold back the tears. Prepared as always, Ketrina had tissues at hand.
The couple exchanged vows then after rings, a kiss, and some joyful applause. That’s when the first raindrops started to fall. Looking up to the sky we could see the blackest of clouds fast approaching. So with no time to waste, we signed the registry and quickly returned for an upbeat walk back down the aisle, under a shower of bubbles, celebratory music and lots of cheers. It was so joyful and so much fun.
Then the heavens opened!!
With umbrellas in hand and the support of Kenzo’s brother, the wedding party made their way to the Stradbroke Island Hotel for shelter and a quick breather. Soon enough, the rain lightened, allowing for those classic Stradbroke photos with Romana along the cliffs and by the bayside—a perfect finish.
