Roads & Driving

All of the roads linking the townships of Straddie are sealed roads. So you don’t need a four-wheel drive, unless you plan on going off-road. If you are planning on driving off road and on the beach a 4WD permit must be purchased at Minjerribah Camping.

Please remember to take care when on the roads, as North Stradbroke Island is home to an abundance of native animals – this is part of it’s appeal. Our native animals particularly love to come out at dawn and dusk – so please drive with care!

Once you are on the island, there are serveral modes of transport that you can take…

Frequently Asked Questions

You can start by deciding on a date.. To plan your day, we also need to know if you will be inviting guests and if so, how many. From there we can help you choose a location and elopement package. Then we can personalise your elopement to suit your individual styles and overall vision… everything from times, to vows and photos. Our team of professionals will bring your day together for you!

Gosh, were do we start? We have basically done all the hard research for you… we have hand-picked amazing wedding vendors from across the Redlands Coast and surrounding regions. We have designed and tested amazing wedding experiences – because every elopement needs to be special. That’s some of what we have done… what do we do? We take all of our experiences and expertise to streamline the wedding planning process for you. No more stressful planning, no more website hopping, no more deciphering quotes, or trying to plan blindly from interstate or overseas. We coordinate all the wedding vendors you need, civil marriage celebrant (including all your Australian legal requirements), photography, hair & makeup, flowers, styling, transportation. Plus where to stay, dine and play (depending on the package).

Ahh… duh… YES!!!! While eloping can work out to be more affordable than the traditional wedding, at Elope Stradbroke our goal is not to save you money (saving $ is just a bonus) but to create amazing experiences – so customising your elopement to suit you is key!

Once you have decided on your elopement package with our help, we can start to lock in the details of your personalised wedding. This forms part of your booking form. Once all the elements in the booking form have been completed we simply require a deposit to secure your wedding date and elopement package. This deposit forms part of the full package and will be deducted from the final balance. It is NOT an additional booking fee.

ASAP, to ensure your special date and locations are locked in. While we don’t need a huge amount of time to line up all your wedding ducks, the more time we can spend on your details, the more personal your experience will be.

It is also a legal requirement in Australia for your notice of intended marriage application form to be lodged with your celebrant at least 1 month before the wedding day.

Our simple elopements start with 10 guests. But we can certainly cater for many more. Please let us know how many guests you would like to invite so we can ensure an amazing day for all!

Of course! Well, so long as it is attainable… not the moon lol! If we can climb a mountain for an elopement, I am sure we can make your special place work. Shoot us an email and we will see what we can do.

Hell yes! Love is love at Elope Stradbroke and we would be honoured to help you plan your elopement! All of our wedding specialists are LGBTIQ+ friendly – we would not have it any other way!

You can wear what you want! We have some couples who wear traditional wedding attire, others who wear denim! There are no rules when it comes to your elopement (although if you are a nudist, then North Straddie isn’t the island for you – there is another on the other side of Brisbane for you lol).

We highly recommend staying on the island! Why not get hitched on what is essentially your honeymoon!?  Staying on the island means that you can relax and enjoy your day, there is less travel and logistics to worry about… and you can wake up the next day in paradise!

If you have your accommodation sorted (or if you are doing a day trip), then all you need to do is decide on what to wear and buy your rings! That is it! We can do the rest for you x
