There is something truly magical about North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) in the early hours. As the first rays of light lifted over the horizon, the Elope Stradbroke team was already on the car ferry, fueled by fresh chocolate croissants and the excitement of a beautiful day ahead.
Sarah and Jamal’s morning wedding at Home Beach was the epitome of what an island elopement should be: intimate, relaxed, and effortlessly chic.
The couple chose to keep their guest list exclusive, inviting only their parents. This allowed for a high-connection, low-fuss experience where the focus remained entirely on their love and the stunning natural surroundings.
Under a bright autumn sky, we set the scene on the sands of Home Beach with:
A modern white hexagonal arbour.
Classic white Americana chairs.
The sound of the Pacific Ocean as the ultimate backdrop.
Sarah was a vision in a strapless gown featuring delicate appliqué and an impressive eight layers of fabric that created a stunning full train. She completed her bridal look with soft curls and a long, flowing veil.
Jamal complemented the coastal palette perfectly, looking relaxed yet polished in a sand-colored suit and a crisp white shirt—opting to skip the tie for that authentic island vibe.
In a nod to their personal style, the couple brought along their Akubra hats, which served as the perfect “Aussie” prop for their post-ceremony photos.
Music sets the mood, and Sarah and Jamal stayed true to their roots with a playlist of country favorites:
“Millionaire” by Chris Stapleton
“Livin’ on Love” by Alan Jackson
“Happy Anywhere” by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani
After a “short and sweet” ceremony led by Cheryl Landsberry, the couple was officially hitched!
After capturing stunning portraits around the rugged Point Lookout coastline, the celebrations continued in true Straddie style. While the Elope Stradbroke team tucked into some local calamari and chips before the boat ride home, the newlyweds and their families headed to the Straddie Brewing Co for a celebratory lunch overlooking the bay.
Sarah and Jamal’s day proves that you don’t need a massive guest list to have a wedding that feels grand. Simple, radiant, and full of heart—it was a morning we won’t soon forget.
